Amazon showcased a whole range of products at the ongoing CES 2019. Some of these are its own brands and products and some through other brands using Alexa as the base. However, most of the launches came with the objective of entering the homes of customers.
Here’s a brief roundup of the announcements:
Key is the brand Amazon uses for the security platform. One product seen this year is Schlage Encode Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt. Amazon says this can be used with the Wi-Fi connectivity to turn into a smart lock.
HiMirror Products on Alexa
This is a product has Amazon’s Alexa and HiMirror working together and there are a couple of products displayed at the CES 2019, HiMirror Mini and HiMirror Enterprise. There is a 10-inch LCD panel, and a CMOS camera. The device is capable of a clutch of health and fitness tracking functions.
Ring Door View Cam is the name of the product being newly launched and is a doorbell from Amazon. It is a successor to four models released earlier. It is linked to Alexa and can be controlled through the home speaker and voice commands.
It also unveiled Lenovo’s Alexa-based Smart Screens, which acts as a 2-in-1, with a dock that acts as a smart hub solution and turning into a convertible laptop.
Some of the other brands which have come up with products that have Amazon’s Alexa at the heart of their design and specification are Hamilton Beach with a coffee maker and IKEA for smart roller blinds. Kadrilj and Fyrtur are the brands and the blinds can be installed and their closing and opening can be controlled through Alexa.
There were also other products, like a shower and water supply control system, motorized shades and so on. Many of these products may start hitting the market only in the second and third quarter, not before.
