A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Sanjiv Khanna didn’t enable the applying filed by some traders that regardless of the apex court docket’s 2013 order directing the CBI to probe the chit fund rip-off, the investigation has not attained finality.

The Supreme Court docket on Monday refused to watch the continuing CBI investigation into the Saradha chit fund rip-off in West Bengal.

A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Sanjiv Khanna didn’t enable the applying filed by some traders that regardless of the apex court docket’s 2013 order directing the CBI to probe the chit fund rip-off, the investigation has not attained finality.

“We’re not inclined to arrange a monitoring committee to watch the chit fund rip-off probe,” the bench stated.

Earlier, the apex court docket in 2013 had transferred the probe into the rip-off to the CBI.
