WhatsApp keeps testing out new features almost on a daily basis. There have been rumours of it working on Dark Mode since September. This feature is now expected to launch on Android and iOS either later in December or early next year.

The Dark Mode will not only help you save the glare from disturbing you, if you are using WhatsApp after dark, but will also help in saving battery life. Especially so, if you are using AMOLED display sporting smartphones. Considering so many apps and operating systems are embracing the dark mode, it was a matter of time before the most popular messaging app in India also added that as a feature.

According to a tweet on WABetaInfo, which keeps tracking all the changes being made on WhatsApp, the Dark Mode is still under development, but there is no exact date as to when it will be out.

WhatsApp itself has not said anything officially on the matter.

I receive a lot of questions about the Dark Mode..

It’s still under development and there is no news now, be patient please.

When there is news on iOS and Android, you will obviously receive more info from me, don’t worry. 😊

Just yesterday, we learned that WhatsApp is soon expected to add a Multi Share file feature as well as Group Calling shortcuts on Android. In the version 2.18.366, Android has enabled all beta users to test a new Multi Share text feature, which lets you copy text from a third party application and share it with two or more contacts on WhatsApp simultaneously.

According to another report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is also testing a Multi Share feature for files that works the same at the muti-share text feature.

Apparently, WhatsApp will also allow users to play these audio files before sending them to other users. Currently, there is no timeline on when this feature will be available to the public.
