It was earlier reported that Sony started shipping samples of this sensor to OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) in September this year and Xiaomi is likely to integrate the same sensor for its new smartphone
Coming back to the image posted by Lin Bin on Weibo, it confirms that the rear camera lens of the smartphone will feature a 48-megapixel camera sensor while the Xiaomi’s President also says that he has been using the device for weeks now. He has also confirmed that the new Xiaomi smartphone will be launched in January, however, there has been no word on what the smartphone will be called or what kind of price tag will it carry.
